EXCLUSIVE: Manoj Bajpayee confesses Tevar filled him with pride before Bandaa; calls Sonakshi Sinha-Arjun Kapoor starrer fantastic
Renowned actor Manoj Bajpayee continues to win hearts as he cements his position as a favourite among audiences. With his recent release, Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, Bajpayee has once again captivated viewers with his compelling performance and versatile acting skills. Besides being a part of critically acclaimed films, he has been featured in a bunch of commercial films. However, he did not act in a few films for “the money” but only for the experience of working with renowned directors on the sets.
During an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Manoj Bajpayee extensively talked about Bandaa and shared his prep work for the film. On the same note, the actor was asked if the audience will ever see him in a “proper masaledar film”. In his response, Bajpayee quickly named a few films from his repertoire that were mass masala films. The list included Satyamev Jayate, Baaghi 2, Bewafaa and Fareb.
Lekin kal ko aur aaengi, achi aaengi. Mujey Tevar bahut hi… agar aap sach mai puche, Tevar mujhe, Bandaa ke pehle mujey kisi mainstream film ne bahut jyada mujhe fakr diya toh woh Tevar thi. Kisi ne nahi dekhi hai toh jaake dekhiye. Bahut hi badhiya film Amit Sharma ne banai thi Badhaai Do ke pehle (But tomorrow more will come, and it will come well. If you genuinely ask me, a mainstream film before Bandaa that has given me a lot more pride is, it’s Tevar. If anyone hasn't seen it, go and watch it. It's a fantastic film made by Amit Sharma before Badhaai Do).”
For the unversed, Tevar, starring Sonakshi Sinha and Arjun Kapoor, was released back in 2015. The film performed poorly at the box office.
