Chris Hemsworth, Halle Berry, Mark Ruffalo lead Crime 101; trailer out now

Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming crime drama Crime 101, directed by Bart Layton and based on a novella by Don Winslow. The film features an ensemble cast led by Chris Hemsworth, Halle Berry and Mark Ruffalo.

The trailer release was accompanied by the official poster, offering a first look at the film’s visual tone and characters. Layton, known for American Animals and The Imposter, serves as both writer and director on the project, marking his return to the crime genre.

 

The makers describe the film as, “Crime 101 weaves the tale of an elusive jewel thief (Chris Hemsworth) whose string of heists along the 101 freeway have mystified police.” The narrative centres on a high-stakes pursuit, with intersecting character arcs shaping the story. The supporting cast includes Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Nick Nolte.

 

The film is produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Derrin Schlesinger, Dimitri Doganis, Layton, Shane Salerno, Hemsworth and Benjamin Grayson, with executive producers including Bergen Swanson, Sarah-Jane Wright, Amelia Granger and others.

 

Backed by Working Title, RAW and Wild State in association with The Story Factory, Crime 101 will have a runtime of 139 minutes and is rated R. The film will stream on Prime Video as part of its upcoming slate of international releases.
