Pathaan Box Office Update: Shah Rukh Khan starrer opens with more than 50% occupancy in morning shows; likely to touch Rs. 50+ cr. on Day 1

Its finally here! The much talked about and keenly awaited Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan has finally hit screens. Directed by Siddharth Anand the film which also stars Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham has been making headlines in the run up to its release. Now, after protests have died down, the advance bookings for the film have leapfrogged. Thanks to this immense hype, the business of Pathaan is expected to start on a flying note.

As per reports, Pathaan has started on a thunderous note. Released across 5500 screens in the domestic market, the film saw an addition of nearly 300 shows after the initial shows concluded, making it the widest release ever. This wide release, coupled with the massive advance booking and the fact that the film releases in multiple languages has greatly benefited the business of Pathaan. Currently, as things stand Pathaan has seen occupancy in the high double-digit range [50%] over morning shows. In fact, the occupancy over evening and night shows is expected to see an increase in footfalls, propelling the business further.

 

Currently, Pathaan, which features one of the highest all-time screen count, was expected to draw in over Rs. 40 cr. on its opening day. However, with the advances and spot bookings, it might propel collections past the Rs. 50 cr. mark on Day 1.
