Satyaprem Ki Katha Box Office Prediction: Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer to open in Rs. 7-9 crores range
This Thursday sees the release of Satyaprem Ki Katha. It’s been ages since a core love story arrived and this one fills the gap. Yes, there was a romantic tale in the form of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar but it was more of a rom-com. On the other hand, this one is more of an emotional tale with dramatic elements to it, which sets it up in a different zone altogether.
For Kartik Aaryan, this one is a first too as he has delivered many successes before but either they have been in a pure comedy zone (Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Pyaar Ka Punchnama series) or rom-coms (Pati Patni Aur Woh, Luka Chuppi). He hasn’t attempted a pure love story in the past and hence would be exploring a new set of audiences with this one. Kiara Advani has JugJugg Jeeyo to her credit but again, it had humour elements to it.
Satyaprem Ki Katha marks the Bollywood debut of Marathi filmmaker Sameer Vidwans and as per inside reports, he has made a highly emotional drama. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has kept the costs under control even while giving a lavish look to the film and hence it doesn’t have to be a Rs. 100 Crore Club affair to be a success. So far, the advance booking has been positive for the film and while it hasn’t hit the roof, it hasn’t been slow either, as a result of which one can expect decent numbers to be accumulated by the time it gets set to open in theatres tomorrow morning.
As of now, a start of Rs. 7-9 crores looks possible for Satyaprem Ki Katha but if footfalls end up gaining momentum in evening and night shows due to positive word of mouth, then it could end up going even higher.
