Box Office: Simmba beats 2.0, becomes 6th highest opening day grosser of 2018
The Ranveer Singh – Sara Ali Khan starrer Simmba released yesterday to positive reviews from both the critics and audiences alike. Directed by Rohit Shetty the film opening on a decent note and later went on to see massive spike in collections over evening and night shows.
In this box office report we take a look at the opening day collections of Simmba while comparing the same to previous releases of 2018. Collecting Rs. 20.72 cr Simmba has managed to out beat the business of previous releases like the Akshay Kumar – Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 that had collected Rs. 20.25 cr to become the sixth highest opening day grosser of 2018. Besides 2.0 the opening day business of Simmba have managed to eclipse the business of other previous releases like Zero that collected Rs. 20.14 cr, Satyameva Jayate that collected Rs. 19.50 cr, Padmaavat that collected Rs. 19 cr, Veere Di Wedding that collected Rs. 10.70 cr, and Pad Man that collected Rs. 10.26 cr.
However, on the other hand despite the massive screen count of 4020, the opening day collections of Simmba do not manage to surpass certain other previous releases like Thugs of Hindostan that collected Rs. 52.25 cr, Sanju that collected Rs. 34.75 cr, Race 3 that collected Rs. 28.50 cr, Gold that collected Rs. 25.25 cr, and Baaghi 2 that collected Rs. 25.10 cr.
As of now, with quite literally no competition Simmba looks set to enjoy a stellar run at the box office.
