Box Office - Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway gathers pace over the weekend, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar collects the most

Released in just 500 odd screens with controlled count of shows, Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway saw a good upraise in collections on a day-by-day basis over the weekend. If the first day numbers were a decent Rs 1.27 crores, the second day numbers came to Rs 2.26 crores and then Sunday collections were Rs 3 crores*. On each of these days, the numbers jumped by Rs 1 crore* or more and that's good trending indeed as it shows that the footfalls are on a constant rise. So far, the film has collected Rs 6.53 crores* and 10 crores would be comfortably crossed this week.

What needs to be seen now is stability during the weekdays and as long as the numbers are on the same lines as Friday, it would be good indeed. That would allow it a good run not just till the release of Bholaa but even beyond. However, if there is some sort of drop and the collections get into that Rs 0.75 crores range then it would be primarily a two-week run here.

 

Meanwhile, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar collected more than Rs 15 crores over the second weekend and that's a little more than 50% drop over the first three day collections which read as Rs 36.59 crores. Of course, two of these three days were working days and then the big ones came on Saturday and Sunday. The film brought in Rs 6.50 crores* more on Sunday and that has pushed the overall total to Rs 108.48 crores*.

 

Though the Luv Ranjan directed film has collected the most amongst all the films in the running, it wasn't really an easy breezy run for the film since Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway too collected around half of this and that too at lesser screens and shows. Hence, while it would have expected a second weekend of Rs 18-20 crores, it didn't quite turn out to be the case for the Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer. Eventually, it would end up being an above average affair with lifetime numbers in the range of Rs 125-130 crores.
