Box Office: Aamir Khan’s Dangal becomes 2nd highest opening weekend grosser of 2016

 

The Nitesh Tiwari directed film Dangal starring Aamir Khan who plays a role based on the life of a wrestler released last week on Friday. In this box office analysis we take a look at the opening weekend collections of Dangal while comparing the same to previously released films of 2016. Dangal that has been one of this year’s most anticipated films managed to collect Rs. 106.95 cr to become the second highest opening weekend grosser of 2016. Though the film fails to surpass the opening weekend collections of the Salman Khan starrer Sultan that collected Rs. 180.36 cr, it does out beat other releases like M. S. Dhoni – The Untold Story that collected Rs. 66 cr, Housefull 3 that collected Rs. 53.31 cr, Fan that collected Rs. 52.35 cr and even Rustom that collected Rs. 50.42 cr.
