83 Box Office Day 1: 83 collects Rs. 12.64 cr on Day 1; becomes Ranveer Singh’s 7th highest opening day grosser
The Kabir Khan directed Ranveer Singh starrer 83 released on December 24, on the occasion of Christmas Eve. Based on India’s iconic 1983 World Cup win, the film has been one of the most talked about and keenly anticipated releases. But, will the hype surrounding 83 translate into in theatre footfalls and eventually collections is the question.
In this box office report, we take a look at the opening day collections of 83 while comparing the same to Ranveer Singh’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 12.64 cr on Day 1, 83 manages to become Ranveer’s seventh highest opening day grosser. Leading the list are Ranveer’s previous films like Padmaavat that collected Rs. 24 cr, Simmba that collected Rs. 20.72 cr, Gully Boy that collected Rs. 19.40 cr, Gunday that collected Rs. 16.12 cr, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela that collected Rs. 16 cr, and Bajirao Mastani that collected Rs. 12.80 cr. On the other hand, the business of 83 does out perform some of his other films like, Dil Dhadakne Do that collected Rs. 10.53 cr, Befikre that collected Rs. 10.36 cr, and Kill Dil that had collected Rs. 6.53 cr.
Currently, despite competition coming from the previous two releases Spider-Man: No Way Home and Pushpa: The Rise, the Ranveer Singh starrer 83 is expected to maintain its hold. In fact, predictions state that the business of the film will see immense growth over its opening weekend.
