Why is Akki distributing Waqt?

We all know Akki is distributing Waqt, but few of us know why is he doing thatapparently the actor decided to take over the distributional rights due to emotional reasons. "It's almost like an autobiographical film. The relationship between Amitji and me in the film is similar to the one I shared with my father," he says. Intending to dedicate the film to his father Akki says, "I bought the film on the condition that my father's name would flash before the credits rolled on the screen." Akshay believes that this is the only character amongst the one's he has played; which comes mighty close to the equation he shared with his father.
