The first Hindi film to be graded digitally:

Firoze Nadiadwalla's Awara Paagal Deewana starring Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Aftaab Shivdasani will be the first Hindi film to be graded digitally. The movie is being directed by Vikram Bhatt. The process of digital gradation involves scanning each frame of the film at the highest resolution and color depth. Each scanned frame is subjected to color correction mechanism using computers. This process enriches the color texture of the frame and the corrected frames are recorded again on the fine grain film. Though the costing and the man-power involved in this process is every expensive, Firoze Nadiadwalla is determined that his film remains 'hatke' from all the other films being made today, be it the production part only.
