Shilpa plays a call girl in 'Khamosh'

Deepak Tijori has commenced shooting of his new film, KHAMOSH. A thriller starring Shilpa Shetty, Shawar Ali and Rajeev Singh in principal roles, the film is currently being shot at Cinevistaas Studios, Kanjurmarg. The film-maker is filming an item number, 'Mera Tan Bola Mera Man Bola', which incidentally is the only song in this film. T.P. AGGARWAL T.P. Aggarwal, who is presenting KHAMOSH, calls it a medium-budget multiplex fare. Deepak's last movie [OOPS] did reasonably well at the box-office. It was not a losing proposition for most of its distributors. After losing money in LOVE IN NEPAL, I want to work with directors who know how to market and sell their products well. I've sworn to work with such film-makers henceforth, he states. RAHUL AGGARWAL T.P. Aggarwal's son Rahul is co-producing the film with Deepak Tijori. Earlier, he was the E.P. of BHARAT BHAGYA VIDHATA, AUR PHIR EK DIN and LOVE IN NEPAL. This film marks his debut as a first-time producer. KHAMOSH is a psychological thriller, Rahul informs, What sets this film apart from those of its ilk is that KHAMOSH won't underestimate the intelligence of the viewer. It's a sensible film. A quickie, the film is being shot in a start-to-finish spell of 30 days. DEEPAK TIJORI Deepak Tijori is shouldering a dual responsibility - he is the director as well as the co-producer of KHAMOSH. KHAMOSH is definitely not a conventional story, he avers. Having made a number of thrillers on television, Deepak is no stranger to this genre. It's a very character-driven film. The presentation is fresh, in terms of the characters as well as the overall look. We are trying something innovative this time around. SHILPA SHETTY This is the first time that Shilpa is enacting the role of a hi-society escort - a role she has never attempted before. Obviously, there's a lot of homework to do to get into the skin of the character. I have so many ideas that I feel like incorporating in this character. Sonia [her name in the film] is a sophisticated escort girl. I have come across some girls like her and I will try to incorporate their mannerisms in my performance. The song being filmed currently is the turning point in her life. She adds, I am averse to smoking. But Deepak wants me to smoke in the film since Sonia is a chain-smoker. When she is nervous, she trembles. Once she lights a cigarette, she is okay. There is no usage of filthy language in the film, mind you. SHAWAR ALI Shawar has firmly made up his mind not to divulge any detail about the role he is essaying. But one hears that he is playing a cop in KHAMOSH. I can vouch that this character is truly different. Deepak and I discussed the role at length. I strongly feel that this film will establish my credentials in the industry. Deepak is a cool guy to work with because he has been an actor himself, says Shawar. RAJEEV SINGH Rajeev Singh, who hails from Jaipur, is a former Mr. World. Says he, I rejected a number of films before KHAMOSH came my way. To be honest, KHAMOSH is an ideal launch pad for me. And it's safer to start your career with an established star like Shilpa. Though he refuses to divulge more about his character, he does comment on how he perceives the film. It's not just a whodunit where people are chasing each other to find out who the culprit is. KHAMOSH will tease and tantalize the minds of the audience. I am playing a simpleton who helps others get out of difficult situations. MORE ON THE FILM KHAMOSH is budgeted at approx. Rs. 3.5 crores. The film will release before Diwali, the producers echo.
