'Filmi Masala' serves Bollywood

Bollywood has impact almost on every sector in India and Hotel industry is no exception. But amongst the plethora of restaurants claiming to be based on theme Bollywood, 'Filmi Masala' at Gurgaon's DT Mall is a class apart. The restaurant successfully recreates Bollywood kitsch under one roof. Bollywood graffiti adorns the walls for example Chole ke peeche kya hai? Which cocks a snook at the famous Madhuri Dixit number, Choli ke peeche kya hai. Every dish at Filmi Masala has a melodramatic filmi name.Vegetarian options in the Shakahari Baby section include Cream Girl (Vegetables in White Sauce) and Ae Mere Tamatar Chaman (Cottage Cheese in a Tomato Gravy). Jhankar Meats, as the fare for the carnivorous has been named, includes Kashmir Ki Curry (Kashmiri Mutton Curry... Yummy like Shammi, says the menu). Rice dishes feature under the title, Bhaat Ban Jaaye. Both Aishwarya Rice (Rice with Green Peas explains the menu) and Juhi Chawal (Plain White Rice, Yes, Fair and Lovely, is the explanation) are also up for grabs. Dada Phulke, the Indian breads section boasts of the likes of Naan Patekar, Kissi Missi & Freaky Chakkar For beverages there is Neel Kamal (blue curacao-based mocktail) or Phal Phal Dil Ke Paas (a blend of orange juice, mirinda & fruit cocktail). The meal can be ended with Mammotea, Helen Antea (Masala Tea) or a Danny Denzoncup (Coffee). In case of sweet tooth there are desserts -- Ek Baar Phirni or Oh Haseena Kulfi Wali Jaane Jahaan.
