CERN Control Room

"With only one opportunity to photograph at CERN before they switched on the Large Hadron Collider, I shot stills in as many different angles as possible for the CG build of the Control Room view. Everything I photographed had to be bracketed and shot with and without a polarizing filter to eliminate as many reflections as possible. As a backup I shot video from key vantage points, in case extra point cloud data was needed for the image modelling task. The initial modelling tasks was handled by MPC's matchmove department, then passed to lead environment artist, Vlad Holst, who completed the modelling and camera projections," says Richard.
