Along with Alia, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Pooja Bhatt will be in the star cast. Interestingly, the official announcement was made on Mahesh Bhatt’s 70th birthday. The film marks his return to direction after 19 years. But, also the sisters Alia Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt will work their dad Mahesh Bhatt.
This will be the first in her career that Alia Bhatt will work in her father’s film. It is a dream come true for the actress who always thought her father would never come out of the retirement. Speaking to a leading daily, she said that she has seen a difference in her relationship with Mahesh Bhatt in the last two years. Now that she is working, she finally understands why her father used to be so busy during their childhood. The switch in the relationship has been really amazing as he has helped her, gave time, nurtured and guided her.
Talking about working with him in Sadak 2, Alia Bhatt revealed that she was a sobbing mess when he had narrated the script. She had said that if he did not direct the film, she would not do it. She was shaking by the end of the narration and said that it was the most creative narration she had ever heard. Alia even revealed Sanjay Dutt told that she has no idea what she has gotten herself into. During the picture shoot for the announcement, she finally got the glimpse of it. She thinks that Sadak 2 will be an emotional journey.
Pooja Bhatt, on the other hand, has actually worked with father. Being the eldest one, she has seen a part of her father’s journey in the industry. She credits her father for being a guiding light. She said that being on sets with him was a learning experience where he would just convey that one needs to be nothing more than what they already are. She is super pumped to Alia Bhatt being directed by their father as she can’t wait to see their relationship blossom further.
Alia Bhatt is working for the first time with father Mahesh Bhatt and sister Pooja Bhatt. Sanjay Dutt, who is close friends with the Bhatts, is returning to the Bhatt camp after 23 years since he did Gumraah in 1993. Aditya Roy Kapur is also returning with Vishesh Films after his 2013 blockbuster Aashiqui 2 which put him on the map.
Aditya Roy Kapur and Alia Bhatt will reportedly essay the role a young couple. Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt is set to reprise his original role as Ravi. The original Sadak revolved around a taxi driver who falls in love with a woman forced into prostitution and battles with her pimp in order to free her.
