We all know that Kuch Kuch Hota Hai has been one of the cults for the 90s generation. The film’s lead characters Rahul, Anjali and Tina continue to rule our hearts and we have harbored dreams about having a college life like the film. Not surprisingly, it is also closest to Karan Johar’s heart. Reason? Because he made his directorial debut with that! So when he came to know that his protégé Janhvi Kapoor hadn’t watched the film, here’s what Karan Johar did!
Well, almost every one of the 90s generation including the new crop of actors would assert that they have not only watched Kuch Kuch Hota Hai but they will also speak about how the film inspired their childhood days or teenage days. One such ‘student’ of Karan Johar was none other than Alia Bhatt. The actress watched KKHH when she was six years old and the film had changed the way she styles herself.
In recent reports it is being said that Alia Bhatt had confessed that when she saw Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, she got heavily inspired by Anjali and her looks. So she used to sport the hair cut of Kajol during her childhood days. On the other hand, Janhvi Kapoor, who has been his Dhadak student, didn’t have any memory associated with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai because she hadn’t seen it at all. Considering how close the film is to his heart, it seems that he wanted all his protégé to watch the film. So he made Janhvi watch the Shah Rukh Khan film.
For the uninitiated, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai celebrates 20 years tomorrow and filmmaker Karan Johar has also planned a special event for the same. Coming to the film, it featured Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji in lead roles and it starred child actor Sana Saeed in a supporting role.
