Filmmaker Karan Johar and Mahaveer Jain organized a meeting of the young delegation of Indian Film Industry this afternoon with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. A courtesy meeting turned into a very uplifting dialogue. The meeting consisted of Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and Ekta Kapoor.

The meeting was held to talk about how the industry has always played an important role in building a better nation, a better society through entertainment. The young generation of the film industry spoke about various issues concerning the Industry and thanked and acknowledged PM for GST change and giving space to the industry to connect. Many interesting ideas were discussed and the young delegation is excited to contribute more with more energy for the country.

Upon meeting PM Modi, Ekta Kapoor wrote, "Thanku honourable prime minister @narendramodi for an insightful meeting! A young delegation met this visionary leader to start conversations on how to merge education n entertainment ! On my acc I can say the aura n the vision have left me overwhelmed! JAI HIND."

Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari wrote, "It was honour to meet our honourable prime minister @narendramodi ji with inspiring lovely friends.An interaction that takes storytelling to new heights.Building a better society through entertainment.Thank-You for the GST change & space to connect thoughts."

Ayushmann Khurrana, who had a phenomenal year in the movies in 2018, wrote, "Got the opportunity to meet the honourable PM Sh @narendramodi ji. Thanks for supporting our industry. Thanks @karanjohar and Mr Mahavir Jain."

In December 2018, a delegation representing the film and entertainment industry comprised of film producers and CEOs of companies in the entertainment industry had met PM Modi. The delegation included prominent film producers such as Karan Johar, Bhushan Kumar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Rakesh Roshan, Ronnie Screwvala, Mahaveer Jain, Sajid Nadiadwala, Puneet Goenka, Ajay Bijli, Nitesh Tiwari, Uday Shankar, Ajay Devgn, Vijay Singh – CEO – Fox Star Studios and Prasoon Joshi, the chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification. Devendra Fadnavis, the CM of Maharashtra was also present on the occasion.
