Expo on Animation, VFX and Gaming announced

CGT Expo, a career guidance and computer graphics technology expo on animation, visual effects and gaming returns in its second edition in Mumbai (23-24 May '09) and Delhi (29-30 May).
Organized by animation, vfx and gaming community portal, CGTantra, the expo aims to bring together students, enthusiasts, business leaders, and industry professionals on a common platform to showcase their innovations, network, exchange ideas and tap new horizons. It will feature a job and education fairs, art galleries, marketplace, master classes, entertainment and gaming zone, competitions and stage showcases.
The highlight of the Mumbai leg of the expo will be a community awards function, which will recognize and honour the best of the artists, and an exclusive India screening of Hunt For Gollum - a 40 minute independent film inspired by The Lord of the Rings, made entirely by a community of artists from across the world in a huge collaborative effort.
Speaking on the initiative, CGTantra founder RK Chand said, "CGT Expo '08 was an astounding success with more than 5000 attendees in the exhibition floor from all over India. International Studios like Pixar, Lucas Films and Festivals like Siggraph Asia had made their gracious presence and participated in the exhibition and the conference. We are taking things to the next level this year."
Rajesh Turakhia, MD, Frameboxx Animation & Visual Effects, who is on the advisory board of the expo, said, "There has been nothing really focused on the student and the end user with a correct exposure, CGT Expo provides that platform and the best exposure."
The event is being held in partnership with Frameboxx Animation & Visual Effects and Digital Asia School of Animation and produced / managed by Nine Interactive. Watch out for event coverage on Bollywood Hungama.
