Captain Miller Trailer: Dhanush goes all guns blazing against the British Raj to protect the villagers from colonization and torture

While Lagaan was much subtle take on a village fighting against the atrocities of the British Raj, Captain Miller is a much violent version with Dhanush playing a rebel who goes all guns blazing against the British authorities who are in the process of colonizing a village. The trailer of this much awaited action thriller was unveiled on January 6 with the film releasing right before the auspicious occasion of Pongal. With much anticipation, fans of the actor were thrilled to see him in a power packed role in this upcoming period drama.

Set against the backdrop of pre-Independence India which is suffering at the hands of British rule, Captain Miller features Dhanush as a rebel. While the trailer starts with everyone wondering about his identity, as they face a dilemma of whether he is a villain, murderer, vigilante, Dhanush describes himself as someone who is chameleon adjusting himself as per the person who needs him. As the trailer progresses, it further showcases the violent world of Eesa aka Captain Miller, where the guns speak louder than anything. The trailer also showcases glimpses of violently villagers are tortured and even killed but at the same time, it refrains from divulging too many details about the plotline and the backstory of ‘Miller’.

 

Apart from Dhanush, the trailer also features Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, Priyanka Mohan, Sundeep Kishan, Vinoth Kishan, albeit in glimpses. Edward Sonnenblick, John Kokken, Nasser, Alex O’Nell, among others are also expected to play pivotal roles in this actioner.

 


 

Captain Miller, which was announced quite some time back, is extensively shot across places like Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, and also the Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the film’s cinematography is handled Siddhartha Nuni along with Nagooran Ramachandran as the editor. The film’s music is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar. It is slated for release on January 12.
