WOAH! Esha Gupta and Kunal Kapoor make an appearance in Hungama Play’s Bar Code

Just yesterday Hungama Play launched its third original web series Bar Code. After the previous two viz. Damaged and Hankaar, Bar Code sees the digital entertainment company venture into a new genre of shows with the Karan Wahi, Akshay Oberoi starrer. But away from the lead cast we have learnt that Bar Code also features two established Bollywood personalities making an appearance. In fact, Esha Gupta and Kunal Kapoor will be seen in the new series.

Commenting on the same a source close to the series adds, “Yes Esha Gupta and Kunal Kapoor will be seen in Bar Code. However, their roles are very limited. In fact, the two make a brief appearance in the series when they arrive at a nightclub to launch a new VIP section that has been established.” Though limited in screen time, we have to say that known Bollywood celebrities making an appearance in web shows is proof that the audience consumption pattern is shifting from long format feature films to short format.

 

 

As for the show itself, Bar Code is produced by Abhishek Pathak under the banner of Panorama Studios, written and directed by Vignesh Shetty. Bar Code narrates the story of two close friends who get into the nightclub business together. Their egos cause a rift between them and this gets them involved in a bitter rivalry. However, they find themselves deeply entangled in each other’s lives repeatedly, causing further friction between them and their circle of friends.
