Alia Bhatt was at her candid best at the 21st HT Leadership Summit held in Delhi on Saturday, November 4. The actress talked about her National Award victory, her daughter Raha and one of her most memorable statements was about Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

At the summit, Alia Bhatt said, “Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently said in one of his speeches, ‘There are no losers in life, only winners and learners’. This stayed with me, and I believe I’m a learner.”

 

Alia turned producer with the much-loved Darlings (2022) and now she’s gearing up for her next production, Jigra. It is directed by Vasan Bala and just like Darlings, it features the actress in the lead. When asked if she’d like to turn director, she said she has no plans but is open to it. Interestingly, her Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022) director Sanjay Leela Bhansali remarked that she would wear the director’s hat soon.

 

Alia Bhatt stated, “I would be a very impatient director. But never say never! I don’t have that kind of command over a story. I can aid other filmmakers in getting them together as a producer. Although Sanjay sir once told me, ‘I think you should direct a movie one day’, and I was like, ‘Sir?’ and he just said, ‘You will see’.”

 

Among other things, Alia Bhatt also opened up about wearing her wedding saree to the 69th National Film Awards, held on August 24 this year. She said that the moment she knew she had won the award, she decided to wear her wedding attire to the award ceremony. She explained “It was a garment I felt myself the most in. My wedding was a special moment [for me], and this was also a moment that felt special for different reasons. An outfit can be worn for a special occasion more than once. I don’t think I was doing something special.”
