KGF – Chapter 2 Box Office: Film beats RRR; becomes the highest opening weekend grosser of 2022

The Yash starrer KGF – Chapter 2 was released last week on Thursday. Being one of the most talked-about and keenly anticipated releases, the film opened with a bang drawing in a massive Rs. 53.95 cr. Following this, KGF 2 received positive reviews from both the audience and critics alike and continued to see business pouring in. In fact, to accommodate audience demand theatre owners have been organizing special shows post-midnight and some starting as early as 6 AM.

Collecting nearly Rs. 200 cr KGF 2 has exceeded expectations. Drawing in a further Rs. 50.35 cr on Sunday, KGF – Chapter 2 has managed to collect Rs. 193.99 cr over its four-day extended weekend. With this, the business of the Yash starrer has managed to surpass the collections of previous releases to become the highest opening weekend grosser of 2022.

 

With the Easter weekend proving highly beneficial for KGF – Chapter 2, the business of the film has surpassed previous releases like RRR, which collected Rs. 75.57 cr, Bachchhan Paandey collected Rs. 36.17 cr, Gangubai Kathiawadi that collected Rs. 39.12 cr, Radhe Shyam collected Rs. 13.94 cr, and even The Kashmir Files which had collected Rs. 27.15 cr.

 

Going forward, KGF 2 which still enjoys superb trending is expected to see its business grow even further. In fact, trade estimates state that the business of the film, which will pass the Rs. 200 cr mark by the end of its fifth day in theatres, could easily near the Rs. 300 cr mark by the end of its first week.
