Bachchhan Paandey Box Office: Ranks as 4th highest opening weekend grosser post pandemic

The Farhad Samji directed film Bachchhan Paandey starring Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi and Jacqueline Fernandez released last week on Friday. Despite the immense promotions and hype surrounding the film, Bachchhan Paandey started on a less than expected note. After drawing in Rs. 13.25 cr on Day 1, the business of the film which faced stiff competition from the previous release The Kashmir Files faced an uphill task at the box office.

While the business of the film manages to surpass the collections of certain releases like, The Kashmir Files that collected Rs. 27.15 cr, Pushpa: The Rise that collected Rs. 12.68 cr, Badhaai Do that collected Rs. 7.82 cr, and Jhund that collected Rs. 5.58 cr, the business of Bachchhan Paandey does not out beat other releases like Sooryavanshi that collected Rs. 77.08 cr, 83 that collected Rs. 47 cr, and Gangubai Kathiawadi that collected Rs. 39.12 cr.

 

Currently, Bachchhan Paandey still continues to run in theatres, however the film faces stiff competition with The Kashmir Files remaining as the audiences’ first choice in theatres. Going forward, trade predictions feature rather bleak collections for the film.
