Juhi mesmerises in 'Jasma Odhan'

After making people sit up and notice her acting prowess in her debut film KASH AAP HAMARE HOTE, Juhi Babbar delivers yet another sparkling performance in Ekjute's play JASMA ODHAN, directed by Juhi's mother Nadira Zaheer Babbar. The play, laced with music, drama and humour, brings on stage 'Bhavai', a folk form of Gujarat. It tells the story of Jasma, the earthly incarnation of a heavenly apsara Kaamkundala. The two diverse roles give Juhi ample scope to display histrionics while Kaamkundala is haughty about her looks, Jasma is a symbol of a traditional Indian woman. Incidentally, this is the second play that brings the mother and daughter face to face, after the much-acclaimed BEGUM JAAN. By the way, Nadira plays Juhi's step mom in JASMA ODHAN and she's simply delightful in this role. The costumes and the 'live' music form other major highlights of JASMA ODHAN. Definitely need to see more of Juhi on the big screen, enacting meaningful roles.
