Govinda bids goodbye to distribution:

By Bollywood Hungama -

It was a sad day for the staff of Govinda's distribution office, Govinda Yashwardhan No 1. Distributors, when the office officially downed its shutters on July 17, almost 16 months after it was first set up on April 1. According to sources, the decision was taken by Govinda a week ago after he decided that the distribution business did not seem to be promising. Apparently, he was considering the idea of closing down the office since some time. In fact, the office had unofficially stopped conducting business since some time, but his staff had consistently maintained that he had no plans whatsoever of closing down the office. The office had released four films, HADH KAR DI AAPNE, JORU KA GHULAM, JIS DESH MEIN GANGA REHTA HAI and SHIKARI, out of which HADH KAR DI AAPNE was a plusfilm, while JORU KA GHULAM fared decently well. But it was the last two films which disillusioned him. The office still has one film pending for release, PYAAR DIWANA HOTA HAI. The film will now be released through another distribution office. The one who is most disillusioned about the development is the manager of the office, Laxman Dohiphode, but as he puts it, "Govinda-ji was firm about his decision and there was nothing we could do to change his mind," he says.
