Shamshera Box Office: Film emerges as the ninth highest opening week grosser of 2022

The much-talked-about and immensely promoted Ranbir Kapoor starrer Shamshera was released a week ago. Directed by Karan Malhotra the film, which also featured Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor, opened on a less than appreciative note. If that was not all, despite the 4350 screens massive release the business of Shamshera faced an uphill task at the box office. With less than appreciative reviews and negative audience feedback, the film floundered at the box office.

In this box office report, we look at the opening week collections of Shamshera while comparing the same to previous releases of 2022. Collecting Rs. 40.05 cr Shamshera has now emerged as the ninth highest opening week grosser of 2022. Preceding Shamshera on the list of highest opening week grossers are previous releases like KGF - Chapter 2 which collected Rs. 268.63 cr, RRR which collected Rs. 132.59 cr, The Kashmir Files which collected Rs. 97.30 cr, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which collected Rs. 92.05 cr, Gangubai Kathiawadi which collected Rs. 68.93 cr, Samrat Prithviraj which collected Rs. 55.05 cr, Jugjugg Jeeyo which collected Rs. 53.66 cr, and Bachchhan Paandey which had collected Rs. 47.98 cr. However, Shamshera does manage to surpass the business of the other release Heropanti 2 which had collected Rs. 23.60 cr.

 

Going forward, Shamshera, which has seen a disastrous run at the box office, is not expected to see further growth in collections. Now with Ek Villain Returns hitting screens this week, the Ranbir Kapoor starrer has all but gone from theatres.
