Box Office: Aamir Khan’s Dangal crosses Rs. 100 cr NETT in Mumbai circuit, sets a new record

 

The Aamir Khan starrer Dangal that released in December last year has been all the rage. While Dangal managed to enter the Rs. 100 crore club in just three days of its release, we noticed something unique four weeks after release. Interestingly, apart from becoming one of the biggest money spinners of the current times, Dangal has recorded staggering business figures across domestic territories. In fact the film has managed to cross the Rs. 100 cr nett mark in terms of box office collections in the circuit of Mumbai alone, while Rs. 75 cr has also come in from the Delhi-UP circuit.

 

However, though Dangal has collected Rs. 100 crore nett within the Mumbai circuit, Aamir Khan's previous release PK remains as the highest grosser in this territory with collections pegged at approximately Rs. 105 crore. Following Dangal and claiming the third spot on the list is the Salman Khan film Bajrangi Bhaijaan with collections around Rs. 90 crore.

 

Evident from this is the fact that apart from being a film that has appealed to the masses, Dangal has also been well received and appreciated by the multiplex going audiences in metro cities as well. With the current total collection figure standing at Rs. 371.48 cr, the film looks all set to cross Rs. 380 cr by the weekend.
