Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's next film to have Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan as backdrop

Readers may recall that many filmmakers are incorporating Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan in their storylines and the latest to join the bandwagon is Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. At the Brahmaputra Literary Festival, Rakeysh announced that his next film titled Mere Pyare Pradhan Mantri will have PM Narendra Modi's cleanliness initiative as the backdrop. The story will be about an eight-year-old boy, Kanhaiya, who desires to make a toilet for his mother. He said that the film was inspired after he had visited Gandhigram. The profits from it will go in the making of more toilets. The filmmaker said that the film will be made with grass root crowd funding from NGOs or as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

 

Talking about this project, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra informed that he likes to tell the story of the land he comes from and which he understands thoroughly like about Milkha Singh, Bhagat Singh, Mirzya etc. Now, living in Mumbai for a while, he did his lot of research on the project for three years and has dared to go ahead with the script and make into a film.
