The sole Hindi release of the week, UGLI AUR PAGLI, was expected to start well, in the 65%-75% range because of various factors:-

a] The eye-catching promos had created a strong buzz for the film;

 

b] Post PYAAR KE SIDE EFFECTS, people were expecting another interesting urban fare;

 

c] A song from the film, 'Talli', had become extremely popular;

 

d] Mallika Sherawat's tremendous popularity amongst youth, the college crowd specially.

 

But despite being a solo release, UGLI AUR PAGLI opened to a 30%-35% start, which is way below expectations. However, the reports are far from encouraging, so the business is expected to slide downwards in days to come.
