Box Office: Top 10 movies on Day 9; Padmaavat occupies the 5th spot

The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed film Padmaavat released a while back. After taking a massive opening the business of the Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor starrer continued to see stellar growth over its first week in theatres. In fact, the collections of the film despite not being screened in certain territories posted rather high number. Now on its ninth day running the film has managed to draw in Rs. 16 cr to become the fifth highest 9th day grosser of all time.

Collecting Rs. 16 cr, the business of Padmaavat has managed to surpass the ninth day collections of previous releases likeTiger Zinda Hai that collected Rs. 14.92 cr, Krrish 3 that collected Rs. 14.23 cr, and Dhoom 3 that collected Rs. 12.04 cr. However, the business of Padmaavat does not manage to surpass other releases like Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion that collected Rs. 26.5 cr, Dangal that collected Rs. 23.07 cr,Bajrangi Bhaijaan that collected Rs. 19.25 cr, and PK that collected Rs. 17.16 cr.

 

Now, with the news of the Karni Sena withdrawing its protests against the film and stating that they would assist its release in territories where the screenings have been affected, all that remains to be seen is whether the collections of the film in its second week will show growth.
