Rajkummar Rao denies turning down Dostana 2 due to its central plot

Rajkummar Rao has recently wrapped the shoot for Badhaai Do with Bhumi Pednekar. The actor will be seen playing the role of a cop after 9 years. Last seen donning that role in Talaash with Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji, and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles, Rajkummar Rao said that his role in the film was a regular cop and a supporting character. While in Badhaai Do, Rajkummar’s role contains a lot more details and there’s a lot going on in his character’s personal life as well.

The actor also recalled the rumour that said that he turned down Dostana 2 because of its central plotline as he was not willing to play a gay character. Denying all rumours, Rajkummar Rao said that he’s willing to play any role including that of a terrorist, a lawyer and so on. Badhaai Do will explore the concept of lavender marriage where two individuals tie the knot to hide their sexuality and explore more of it because we live in a society that unfortunately considers homosexuality as a crime.

 

The actor has recently made heads turn with his performance in The White Tiger with Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
