Collecting Rs. 47 cr, Dear Zindagi becomes the thirteenth highest Opening week grosser of 2016. Though the film fails to surpass the collection of previous film like Sultan that collected Rs. 229.16 cr, M. S. Dhoni - The Untold Story that collected Rs. 94.13 cr, Rustom that collected Rs. 90.9 cr, and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil that collected Rs. 80.19 cr to name a few. It does manage to surpass others like Kapoor & Sons that collected Rs. 46.93 Ki & Ka that collected Rs. 37.57, A Flying Jatt that collected Rs. 36.85 and Pink that collected Rs. 35.91 cr.
