Filmy, a Sahara One Network TV channel, has announced a hunt for Indias Best Short Film through its Filmy Short Film Festival. Providing the ideal platform for Indias best and brightest short-film makers to showcase their talents, Filmy invites applicants to send in their films of up to 60 minutes, beginning from June 1 till the end of the month.

Once the entries are received, they would be short-listed by a jury consisting of eminent people from the industry, which would then be telecast on the channel. Also, viewers can vote for their favourite films and the Audience Favourite film and film-maker will be profiled on the channel.

Through this contest, Filmy will give an opportunity to independent and amateur film-makers a chance to exhibit their talent to a nationwide audience and have their films judged by the toughest of all parameters -- audience approval. There is no criteria for eligibility, with an aim to attract entries from writers, producers, directors, cinematographers and animators among others.

Films from all genres are welcome including dramas, documentaries, live action and animated stories, with themes ranging from humor and horror to SciFi and reality.
