Director Abhishek chose Gujarat to shoot for his film because he thinks Gujarat as a state has great potential for picturesque locations. The entire cast had a great time sampling Gujarati cuisine and bearing the extreme heat in the various areas of Gujarat while they were shooting. Kai Po Che released in cinemas on 22nd Feb, 2013.
