Its what the new age cinema tries to do. They bring realism to films; they make you want to believe. Katrina is believable as Jennifer, like a typical catholic Bandra girl who is an orphan, works in the library and the money she would make from her day job is all she has in the form of disposable income. Not exactly the typical upper middle class bourgeois chick with a credit card at her disposal and a credit limit that goes onto five figures. Jenny is someone who cannot afford the accessories of the world and makes do with a simple wardrobe and no add-ons. So what makes this look work like a wonder?

The entire look is put together by Shyamli Arora. She isnt a typical Bollywood designer and credits her work in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani to Katrina who got her on board. She discloses, Katrina got me in the film because she believed that the character required an entirely no-Bollywood look. A fresh perspective was required. Knowing Katrina, its no surprise, as she is always completely involved in her look, be it a video, photo shoot, commercial or a film.
