Box Office: Prahaar takes a DULL start; Rajkummar Rao starrer opens at Rs. 2.25 crore
The Rajkummar Rao led Prahaar has taken a dull start at the box office in India, and that was more or less expected owing to the sub-par promotional assets. According to early estimates, the courtroom drama has collected in the range of Rs. 2 crore to Rs. 2.50 crore on Friday, in line with the pre-release expectations.
Box Office: Prahaar takes a DULL start; Rajkummar Rao starrer opens at Rs. 2.25 crore
The way it opened in the morning, it looked like a Rs. 1.50 crore opening day, but it thankfully gained some sort of momentum towards the evening and night shows. The business is largely driven by the national chains, as there's little the film has earned outside of the plexus in urban markets.
The reports in the media are positive, and it's a wait-and-watch scenario to see if the media positivity translates into big surges for the film over the weekend. The target will be to double up on Saturday, but that looks like a tough task.
The costs of Prahaar are also on the higher side owing to delays and reshoots, but that's a story to be told another day.
