Pandit has backed projects across regional film industries, particularly Marathi and Gujarati cinema. His previous Marathi collaborations with Jog include Well Done Baby, Victoria, Baap Manus and Musafiraa. With Ghanti, the two are bringing their creative partnership to Hindi cinema. Pandit has also spoken about the increasingly blurred boundaries between regional-language industries and the scope for Indian cinema to reach audiences across linguistic markets. His work across languages reflects his interest in taking regional talent to a wider audience.
Speaking about the film, Pandit said, “Good comedy often comes from ordinary situations that take completely unexpected turns. With Ghanti, we wanted to back a story that embraces the absurd and gives its characters the freedom to surprise audiences. Our eighth collaboration with Pushkar and Goosebumps Entertainment is also a milestone for us, reflecting the creative trust we have built over the years.”
Written by Rachita Kapoor and Abid Hussain, Ghanti revolves around a caretaker who secretly plans to rent out an empty farmhouse. However, his plan takes an unexpected turn when a succession of guests arrives. As he attempts to prevent their secrets from coming to light, the seemingly straightforward arrangement leads to a series of increasingly unpredictable situations.
Jog added, “The fun of Ghanti lies in watching a simple plan unravel as new characters enter the picture and find themselves caught in increasingly unpredictable and hilarious situations. The distinctive setting gives the story room to build its own comic chaos. Filming across the UK has been a memorable experience, and I look forward to sharing this world and its characters with audiences.”
The film is produced by Anand Pandit, Roopa Pandit and Pushkar Jog, with Mohit Chhabra & Co. serving as co-producer. Ankur Sachdev, Nilesh Gavand and Rahul V Dubey are also credited as co-producers.
The technical team includes Nikhil Ranade as director of photography, Saii Piyush as music composers, Ankita Deshmukh as costume designer, and Iljit Kaur as makeup and hair stylist and sound recordist. Kimberley Hodgkiss has handled production design and costume supervision.
