Best Song

The year 2011 boasted of some really great songs, but the winner of the Best Song is Chammak Challo from Ra.One. Sung by international pop singer Akon and Hamsika Iyer, this peppy track was a clear cut winner with 32 % of the votes beating A R Rahmans soulful composition Jo Bhi Main from Rockstar, which got 20% votes.

Composer duo Vishal and Shekhar surely had a rocking year with songs like Chammak Challo and Ooh La La ruling the music charts. When we got in touch with Vishal Dadlani, he said, I would like to thank everyone who voted. I am not a big believer in awards but when the public votes, it feels good because you know that it is genuine. Nothing else matters in this business as at the end of the day it is the people who have to like your work, as that is what we have worked for, so it feels great. I am happy that our song Ooh La La also makes it to the top three. Jo Bhi Main is also a very good song and it feels great to be in good company.

Kareena Kapoor who sizzled like never before in Chammal Challo too was thrilled when she heard that Chammak Challo was voted the Best Song of the year. The actress said, I am happy and I truly believe that Chammak Challo is the Song of the Year 2011. Its a great track and I am happy that my fans have voted for it. Akon, who has sung the song, doesnt know a word of Hindi and he has done such a fabulous job. In the future too we should encourage more of such international singers to sing in Hindi films.
