Speaking about his scuba diving experience and how he went about it, Ashmit says, I did a DSD (Discover Scuba Diving), where they give you a training session in a swimming pool which lasts for about 45 minutes to an hour, where they teach you all the basics like hand signals, they get you comfortable with the big gear which is very heavy, they also give you training of situations which may arise where you or your regulator runs out of oxygen and you have to use somebody elses, and then they take you for a swim under water in the pool. After that they let you decide whether you still want to dive and are comfortable enough to dive. I knew that it was now or never for me. If I didnt do it then, then I would never be able to do it and I would never get over my fear. I had the best time ever when I went underwater for the dive. I didnt want to come back up. The dive lasted for about 40 minutes. We kept checking the oxygen gauge and till the time it didnt reach the caution zone, we kept going.
