Amitabh Bachchan killing Amitabh Bachchan in Aakhri Raasta

In Aakhri Raasta, Amitabh Bachchan played a double role. A father is out to kill the villains while his son, a cop now, will go all the way to defend them so that woh apni vardi ka farz ada kar sake. Fair point; go for it, as long as the senior Bachchan finishes his job as well. Now it was all quite apt that despite all the resistance, the father even battled the crowded rally and shot a bullet right into the villains (Sadashiv Amrapurkar) head. It was a different matter though that younger Bachchan had earlier shot his dad and was in two minds now to actually kill Amrapurkar himself. However, that was not really required as the dad rose like a Phoenix and in one swift motion completed his pending task. Of course he died the very next second but not before getting his job done. Now imagine if this would have happened five minutes ago and Amrapurkar would have continued with his rally. Of course younger Bachchan would have killed him instead but rest assured, it wouldnt have worked for the audience. After all the build up was to have the Senior Bachchan avenge the killing of his wife. If son had to do it eventually, the entire build up (terrific as it was) could well have been termed useless. Hail the dad, hail the hero, thats what a Hindi film is about.
