Visual effects and Special effects

Special effects better known as SFX in the film industry is basically the techniques used on the filming set, to generate certain visuals that would later be cleaned up and augmented using VFX. A visual effect is the digital process where-in the raw footage is enhanced digitally like in the shots visible in the scene above. The SFX in this scene included the car above to be wired to a crane, which was rigged along with pyrotechnics for it to flip over its hood. This SFX live action layer was shot separately and the principal actors in the scene were shot against a chroma background on a different plate. Trackers were marked on the chroma background which helped the compositor to camera match the shot and the flipped car layer was placed with the trackers assistance, this ensured the position of the layers. The crane wires in the SFX layer was cleaned up digitally by masking them using Nuke. Viral Thakkar, VFX CGI head of the film, directed his team and sought out the CGI portions in the film, CGI elements were added to the base of the car in sync with the textures with the live action shot of the flipped car. All these different layers were then merged later on in the composite stage to render the final output.

<amp-img width=1.33 height=1 layout=responsive src=https://images.bollywoodhungama.com/img/feature/11/aug/vfxsingham3a.jpg></amp-img>

<amp-img width=1.33 height=1 layout=responsive src=https://images.bollywoodhungama.com/img/feature/11/aug/vfxsingham3b.jpg></amp-img>
