Rajpal Yadav as Chotta Don

What sets apart Rajpal Yadav from other character artists is the fact that irrespective of the length of his role, he always manages to leave a mark in any role he does.

This year’s Salman Khan – Govinda hit Partner may have been a blatant copy of the Will smith starrer Hitch. But probably the only track that wasn’t there in the original English film was the one involving Rajpal Yadav who plays a mafia king called ‘Chotta Don’. Call it a spoof or a tribute to one of Bollywood’s most famous characters Don, Rajpal Yadav playing ‘Chotta Don’ does succeed in tickling the audience’s funny bone. He makes his entry coming out of a coffin in Bollywood’s most famous criminal den location of Mukesh Mills. Most of his henchmen are double his size and stature and it’s really funny to see the way he commands them. Chotta Don is also shown as an ardent cricket lover who loves using cricket lingo in his conversations. What is amusing is the fact that a Don is someone whom people are supposed to fear whereas here Rajpal Yadav’s character literally ends up being the punching bang with anyone and everyone slapping him left, right, and centre. However the one line that probably takes the cake is where Chotta Don goes one-up on the original Don by mouthing the famous dialogue “Gyarah Mulkon Ki Police Mere Peeche Padi Hai†…..And then he adds “Aur abhi baarave mulk se baatein chal rahi haiâ€. This Crime Lord is indeed Cute, Comical and Cult Material.
