Sunil Shetty as Yeda Anna

Sunil Shetty may been known for his comic roles in films like Hera Pheri, Phir Hera Pheri and even Apna Sapna Money Money, but his portrayal of the muscular goon, ‘Yeda Anna’, in Vikram Bhatt’s Awara Pagal Deewana still ranks among his finest performances till date. His character, ‘Yeda Anna’, is best “remembered†(pun intended) for his unique trait of forgetting small, trivial things. However, it is the unique way in which he tries to describe the term and convey his message that literally cracks you up even now when you watch the film on DVD or one of its several runs on television. Special mention must be made of the scene where he referring to a sugarcane but confuses everyone with his funny description. Shetty along with his sidekick Johnny Lever playing the lovable Chotta Chatri (Little Umbrella) and Paresh Rawal (who also has the habit of forgetting names) literally, bring the house down with their histrionics. Shetty ends up getting some of the best lines in the film and becomes more of a comic character than a goon providing the audience with ample laughs. Keep it up Anna.
