<span class=normal>For the first time in the history of Indian cinema, a full-fledged graphic novel has been commissioned to compliment a film. There have been one-off promotional comics in the past serving as short prequels and adaptations to movies. But backed by a major publisher, the Jungfrau Encounter is a serious attempt to kick-start a graphic novel series that will run parallel with a movie franchise. It is also one of the first Indian graphic novels in the popular fiction category and caters to a much wider audience than traditional art-house graphic novels or serial superhero comics. Owing to its universal genre and affiliation to a mainstream Bollywood film, the book also stands a high chance of garnering mass appeal and even attracting non-comic book readers. </span>
