Phoonk

Strengths

- Excellent promos. Yet again, Ram Gopal Varma and his team has excelled when it comes to designing innovative promos.

- It has been after a while (except for Sarkar Raj of course) that a small film coming from Ramu has managed to create some reasonable excitement.

- Good promotion is ensuring that the film is being visible prior to its release

- Black magic theme has been hitherto unexplored (except for Wilson Louis Ho Sakta Hai) and it would be an interesting experience for audience if Ramu actually manages to engage and scare them all.

Weaknesses

- Ram Gopal Varmas Sarkar Raj redeemed him to an extent but Contract turned out to be forgettable for everyone involved.

- Zero star-cast. Sudeep is a name down South but in Bollywood this is his maiden effort. Also, he is not quite getting a hero launch per se which could have made headlines (like it has made for numerous Ramu films in the past)

- Horror genre of the film doesnt quite warrant a rush of audience into the theaters. It would have to be the case of strong word of mouth to enable audience inflow as the weekend progresses.

Check out movie stills
