"It was a great opportunity coming from Namit Malhotra (MD of Prime Focus) and I decided to move on. I would be heading the film business which include all the services including Camera, Audio, VFX and DI amongst others," Malik told Bollywood Hungama.

During his tenure with Pixion, Malik was instrumental in expanding the company from a 50 people, limited profile unit to one with over 800 staff spread over facilities in Mumbai, Chennai and the UK. The company's growth was powered by strategic acquisitions of visual effects boutiques like London based 'Men from Mars' and 'Molinare'. Over the years, Malik leveraged his strong technology background to build system solutions ranging from DTH facilities to post-production studios to news rooms.

A source close to the development told Bollywood Hungama that a few others from the top management are also expected to leave the company, fueling concerns of a possible exodus.

Pixion is a subsidiary of Century Communication limited and has delivered vfx for a number of TV Commercials, broadcast channels and Bollywood films including Golmaal Returns. The studio is currently working on the animation feature titled Mahayoddha Ram.

Prime Focus, which competes with Pixion in the post-production and vfx space, has worked on many Bollywood films including Ghajini, Love Aaj Kal and Luck.
