KGF – Chapter 2 Box Office: Film beats Dangal; ranks as fastest Rs. 300 cr grosser

The much talked about and keenly anticipated release KGF – Chapter 2 hit screens a little over a week ago. Starring Yash the film which opened on a thunderous note witnessed immense growth in collections over its opening weekend and first week. Now on its second weekend running the business of KGF 2 posted good collection figures, managing to cross the Rs. 300 cr mark.

Collecting a total of Rs. 321.12 cr within just 11 days of its release KGF – Chapter 2 has managed to beat the Aamir Khan starrer Dangal which had crossed the Rs. 300 cr mark in 13 days of its release. With this, KGF 2 now shares the title of being the fastest Rs. 300 cr grosser with the previously release SS Rajamouli directorial Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion that had also managed to enter the Rs. 300 cr club in 11 days of its release.

 

If that was not all, KGF – Chapter 2 has now become the all-time 10th film to make it past the Rs. 300 cr mark. While on the other hand when compared to previous Hindi dubbed releases, KGF 2 is only the second film after Baahubali 2 to make it across the Rs. 300 cr threshold.

 

As of now, KGF – Chapter 2 continues to run in theatres, with the audience patronizing the film in droves over the new release Jersey. In fact, trade predictions state that the business of KGF 2 will continue to see growth and could easily rival the lifetime collections of the Aamir starrer Dangal which had collected Rs. 387.38 cr.
