The Kerala Story beats Pathaan; bags the top spot for the highest fourth-week grosser of 2023
The previous year, 2022, was bad for Bollywood in terms of box office with only a handful of films turning out to be winners at the ticket window. This year hasn’t been great but it is turning out to be better than the previous year as it has seen its share of hits. The two films that have dominated the box office the most in 2023 are Pathaan and The Kerala Story.
Although overall collection wise Pathaan is much ahead of The Kerala Story. But if we look at the fourth week numbers, the Adah Sharma starrer has surpassed the film produced by Yash Raj Films. The Kerala Story has succeeded in earning Rs. 18.15 crores in week 4 while the Shah Rukh Khan starrer spy action film did a business of Rs 14.31 crores in that period.
Directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, The Kerala Story has so far earned a mammoth Rs. 231.72 crores in total. Considering that the film has no big stars and hardly any entertainment factors, the number it has reached is phenomenal. Pathaan, on the other hand, finished on an unimaginable number of Rs 543.05 crores in its lifetime journey.
If we look at the top 7 films in the highest fourth week list of 2023, the rest of the five spots are taken by Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Bholaa, Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Shehzada.

The Kerala Story – 18.15 cr.
Pathaan – 14.31 cr.
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar – 5.67 cr.
Bholaa – 1.60 cr.
Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway – 1.50 cr.
