Gangubai Kathiawadi Box Office Collections: Alia Bhatt beats Kangana Ranaut; Gangubai Kathiawadi becomes the 2nd highest all-time second weekend female centric grosser

The Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali released a while back, and since then the film has been unstoppable at the box office. After opening on a good note the business of the film saw immense growth over its opening weekend and first week as well. Now, on its second weekend, the collections of Gangubai Kathiawadi have seen yet another spike.

In this box office report, we take a look at the second-weekend collections of Gangubai Kathiawadi while comparing the same to previously released women-centric films. Collecting Rs. 23.29 cr Gangubai Kathiawadi surpasses the Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi that had collected Rs. 14.35 cr to become the second-highest all-time women-centric highest grosser. Leading the list is another Kangana starrer Tanu Weds Manu Returns that had collected Rs. 28.30 cr, however, Gangubai Kathiawadi does out beat the second weekend business of certain other releases like Raazi that collected Rs. 21.74 cr, Veere Di Wedding that collected Rs. 12.72 cr, Dear Zindagi that collected Rs. 10.10 cr, and Ragini MMS 2 that had collected Rs. 6.50 cr.

 

Currently, Gangubai Kathiawadi continues to run in theatres, however, the film faces still competition in its second week from the new releases in the form of the Amitabh Bachchan starrer Jhund and the Hollywood releases The Batman. But despite this, trade predictions remain positive stating that Gangubai Kathiawadi will continue to see growth over its second week as well.
