Gadar 2 Box Office: Sunny Deol, Anil Sharma, Ameesha Patel, Ukarsh Sharma enter Rs. 500 Crore Club
It's historic. In a matter of just 7 months, Bollywood has now seen as many as two films entering the Rs. 500 Crore Club. Till the month of May it seemed like all was lost for the Hindi film industry but The Kerala Story arrived, entered the Rs. 200 Crore Club, and post that there has been a flurry of successes in the form of Zara Hatrke Zara Bachke, Satyaprem Ki Katha, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, OMG 2 and Dream Girl 2. Meanwhile, the biggest of them all is now Gadar 2, which has gone past the Rs. 500 crores mark in less than 25 days.
The feat was accomplished on the 24th day since release. The film brought in Rs. 7.80 crores more which is simply superb as so many films have struggled to get this as their first day number and here the ZEE Studios affair has managed that even on its fourth Sunday. There is so much of steam still left in the film and it would be just unfortunate for it (though fortunate for the industry as a whole) that Jawan will arrive on Thursday and hamper its momentum.
Meanwhile, Sunny Deol, Anil Sharma, Ameesha Patel, Ukarsh Sharma and all associated with Gadar 2 can well pop the champagne as the film currently stands at Rs. 501.17 crores. This is a monumental score and now the film can well be termed as an All Time Mega Blockbuster. Next target in sight is Baahubali: The Conclusion, the Hindi version of which had brought in Rs. 524.50 crores. That milestone would be crossed by the film by this week post which it would all about getting the crown of the biggest Hindi release ever when Pathaan lifetime would be chased.
