Gadar 2 Box Office: Film beats Baahubali 2, Pathaan and Oscar winner RRR; emerges as the all-time highest second Friday grosser

The Sunny Deol – Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 hit screens over a week ago. Directed by Anil Sharma the film which takes the story of 2001 release Gadar – Ek Prem Katha forward, has not only garnered rave reviews from the critics but has also been welcomed with open arms by the audience. In fact, the craze for the film has been so high, that certain locations have reported adding late night and early morning shows to compensate audience demand. If that was not enough, Gadar 2 which has been raking in the moolah since its release has finally given the industry a certified blockbuster. Now, after sailing past the Rs. 100 cr and Rs. 200 cr mark, the film has managed to shatter the Rs. 300 cr barrier. Collecting Rs. 305.13 cr in just 8 days of its release Gadar 2 has made a spectacular entry in the exclusive Rs. 300 Crore Club.

Besides this epic saga, Gadar 2 has managed to surpass the second Friday collections of other big-ticket releases like The Kashmir Files which collected Rs. 19.15 cr, Dangal which collected Rs. 18.59 cr, PK which collected Rs. 14.48 cr, Pathaan which collected Rs. 14 cr and even the Oscar winning film RRR which had collected Rs. 13.50 cr.

 

As of now, Gadar 2 continues to enjoy the audiences’ favour and is more than likely to see its business grow even further. Based on current scenarios, trade predictions state that the business of Gadar 2 on its second weekend could see big numbers coming in, managing to inch closer if not push past the Rs. 350 cr mark.
